Caring for Eastern North Carolina by Providing Affordable Legal Services.
Our Charitable Mission
Inner Banks Legal Services is a non-profit organization located in Washington, North Carolina. Our firm provides legal services for people who make too much money to qualify for free legal services, but do not earn enough to pay traditional for-profit law firm prices. Our fees are based on your ability to pay, using your household income and family size to determine a fair and affordable price for legal representation.
Serving Our Community
Our staff is dedicated to serving Eastern North Carolina. We have two primary practice areas - Bankruptcy and Family Law. We help our clients with Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies. We also offer unbundled family law services. Need legal representation for something other than bankruptcy or family law? As we grow, we plan to add other areas of legal representation. For now, we have a list of other wonderful attorneys in our community, so contact us to see how we can serve you!
Sarah Beth Withers, Esq. is the firm’s founder and principal attorney. She formed our team because she believes that people of modest means should have equal access to quality legal representation. Sarah Beth is passionate about Eastern North Carolina and serving low- and medium-income families. Prior to becoming an attorney, Sarah Beth worked as a bankruptcy paralegal practicing both debtor and creditor rights.
While attending law school, she served as a Judicial Extern for The Late Honorable Randy D. Doub, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Sarah Beth graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2013. After graduation, she worked as a staff attorney for the chapter 13 bankruptcy trustee. Sarah Beth has been involved in the bankruptcy process serving debtors, creditors, judicial chambers, and the trustee. This comprehensive experience makes her uniquely qualified to represent both creditors and debtors in the bankruptcy process.
We are located in the heart of downtown Washington, North Carolina. Our office is on the northwest corner of Bonner and East 2nd Street.
